Spring Floral Wedding Attire

While planning what to wear for a Spring wedding in La Jolla, I stumbled across this gorgeous pink, floral printed maxi dress from Little Mistress. Although a floor length dress can look formal; the flowy, bright floral printed fabric, and minimal bead embellishments made this dress appropriate for a day time wedding and easily transitioned into an evening reception look. I kept the dress on the semi-formal side with a leather clutch and simple waves and natural (but big lashes) make up. Although the straps of the dress were supposed to cross over my shoulders, I let one strap on each side fall to the sides of my arms. Style Tip: Floral print knee-length a-line or tulip shaped dresses or maxi-length, in a soft fabric can easily be worn to a day time spring/summer wedding. If you want to glitz up your dress, wear a statement necklace or other bold jewelry, but make sure it doesn't clash with the print. For shoes, wear nude or a color from the floral print of your dress. Get the dress I wore in this post below:

Mixing Stripe and Floral Prints

A fun way to mix prints is with stripes and florals. Usually stripes can seamlessly pair with other prints; in this look, I styled a thinly striped button down tucked into an abstract, floral printed skirt. This look works well because the stripe pattern of the top is symmetrical and simple which balances the bold floral print of the skirt. I chose the blue stripe because it mimics a blue shade in the floral print. Read my full eHow article on the 'The Basic of Mixing Prints'. Here are details on the outfit:

Simple All White Outfit

I've posted two other all white outfits here and here, and my 'How to Wear White' story has been published on eHow which you can read here. In this look, I wanted to dress up a pair of white denim cargo jeans, so I styled a flowy tank and simple vest to create a bold look. I finished the look with strappy white heels, see the outfit details below:

How to Wear a Top Over a Dress

Playing off the all-white outfit theme like my last outfit post featuring a casual white dress and white converse sneakers, this all white outfit is a bit dressier and has a very lady-like look to it. I had a simple white dress that I wanted to spruce up, so I layered a textured peplum top over it. This is an easy way to change up the look of a dress you already have in your closet, you just need to make sure that the fits of the pieces you are layering complement each other; that you're not layering an extremely fitted top over a very loose dress, but you can however layer a loose top over a very fitted dress. As you can see in the photos, the peplum top has a similar neckline as the dress, I wouldn't layer an off the shoulder or wide neckline over the crew neck of the dress. I kept the outfit fresh and spring/summer ready with a pair of nude heels.

Wearing a Dress with Converse Chucks

While working on a story for eHOW.com, I had to compile various ways to wear white (article being published soon and I'll share it on FFF), here is the first and simplest look. This Forever 21 Side-Slit Midi Dress is lightweight and comfy, but looks put together with it's modernist silhouette. It is the perfect dress to throw on when you don't want to have to think about what to wear and when it's blazing hot (which is what I will be experiencing in Vegas this weekend). I can wear these with sneaks like these classic Converse chucks or with a beige or tan sandal or wedge.

This dress also creates a blank canvas to accessorize with a statement piece or a layering of dainty necklaces; you can also stick with the simplistic style by donning simple arm or wrist cuffs. This dress is available in black or white, and there's also a similar version in grey. Can I tell you that I want all the colors and I'm currently obsessing over the high side slit trend right now, I also just picked up this t-shirt from F21 with side slits.

Sudara's Soyamma Full Punjammies for Spring 2015

I really liked Sudara's Soyamma Full Punjammies because of the bold print, neutral colors, and cinched waistline which has a beaded tie detail (Note: in some of the photos the pants appear to be green due to the editing, but you can click on the shop-pable link to see a more accurate view of the colors). Check out and shop the rest of the Spring 2015 Collection.

Sudara's Prema Punjammies for Spring 15

I love the combo of the denim shirt and the hot pink bottoms, it just instantly brightens my day. This look is from Sudara's SS15 Collection Lookbook shoot featuring their Punjammies bottoms; I specifically wore the Prema Full Pant and Hailey wore the Nagavani Capri. I just love that these new Punjammies styles can be styled with different washes of denim tops and lace and crochet pieces for the perfect Spring look. Shop the rest of the collection here!
